Spring Equinox
Spring Blessings, Beautiful Souls!
The arrival of Spring is near, also known as Ostara in pagan traditions, marks a time of balance, renewal, and the celebration of life's vibrant resurgence.
The Spring Equinox occurs around March 20th or 21st in the Northern Hemisphere. It is a day when the hours of light and darkness stand in perfect equilibrium.
Spiritually, this balance mirrors the interplay of light and darkness within ourselves and the world around us. It is an invitation to reflect on the past, shed your winter skin, release what no longer serves you, and take the lessons you learned this last cycle with you into a new cycle.
Ostara is a celebration of fertility, rebirth, and new beginnings. Named after the Germanic goddess of spring, Ostara embodies the spirit of growth, transformation, and the eternal cycle of life.
Many rituals and traditions are associated with Ostara, all aimed at honoring the Earth's awakening and aligning with the energies of renewal. From planting seeds to planting “personal seeds”, tending to your garden, crafting flower crowns, and partaking in feasts, there are countless ways to celebrate the season's arrival.
One common practice is the creation of an Ostara altar adorned with symbols of fertility, such as eggs, flowers, seeds, and symbols of the sun. Lighting candles and offering prayers of gratitude for the Earth's abundance can also serve as a simple ritual to honor Ostara.
As we embrace the spirit of Ostara, we are reminded of our inherent ability to grow, evolve, and bloom, even in the face of adversity. Just as the Earth emerges from its wintry slumber, we too can shed the burdens of the past and embrace the promise of new beginnings.
This Ostara, let us cultivate the seeds of intention, set our sights on our deepest desires, and trust in our ability to manifest our dreams. Let us honor the Earth's renewal by nurturing our own growth, fostering resilience, and celebrating the beauty of life's endless cycles.
In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "The Earth laughs in flowers." May we too find joy, laughter, and boundless inspiration as we dance in harmony with the rhythms of nature, embracing the radiant spirit of Ostara.
As we welcome the return of light and life, may we be filled with gratitude for the blessings of renewal, and may the season's energy propel us forward on our journey of self-discovery and transformation.
